As a fan of both film and food, it tickles me no end that there exists on the internet a list of 125 Movies About or Featuring Food. Of these, I'm particularly keen to see God of Cookery, anything that combines martial arts with cooking must be worth a squizz. Sunday, August 29, 2004 08:52 p.m.

The new television campaign for the Yarra Valley (weekend gourmet/winery destination proximate to Melbourne)is more than a little disturbing. It's the song they've chosen to accompany images of the region as a young couple scamper about its idyllic charms - "Run rabbit, Run rabbit, run, run, run." Best elude the farmer and his gun. Are the couple in the ad trying to ditch an imaginary pursuer to heighten the erotic tension of their weekend tryst, or is there some nut with an antique shotgun wandering among the grapevines and cheese vats who thinks we all have big ears and cotton tails? Either way, its all a bit too "Blair Witch" to constitute a lovely weekend in the countryside, which requires nothing more than fully private self-contained cottage within rolling distance of local gourmet treats; and has a decent kitchen, deep bath, and big telly............ I've discovered this blog that I started whilst living in Sydney in 2000. For a hot minute there I had something like seven blogs going. As for this one, the 'personal journalesque' blog, I didn't post much and seemed to permanently abandon it due to my cat dying. Now back home in Melbourne, and some years on, the time has arrived to flex the old, rusty, html muscle and revivify a fULLY iNCORPORATED bLOG. Let's see how it goes.............
